Betty Jean Klopp, age 89, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family at her side.Betty was born on August 16, 1928 in Corning, NY the middle child of Edward L. and Ida Mae (Gannon) Holmes. She was a graduate of Painted Post High School and soon married the love of her life, the late Harry C. Klopp in 1947. Together they raised three children, Susan, Sally, and Nancy.Betty lived a very full and blessed life. All who met her cherished her lovable ways and they admired her inner strength. She was the glue that held her family together. Betty was an amazing, loving, strong and supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed family camping,extensive travel, crocheting, reading, and family gatherings. In addition to her parents, Betty is predeceased by her loving husband Harry; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Leon Causer. She is survived by two daughters, Sally (Raymond) Leonard of Painted Post and Nancy (Clinton)
Smith of Addison; two brothers, Ed Holmes of Corning and Charles Holmes of Campbell; sister-in-law, Dorothea Cole of Painted Post; grandchildren, Jennifer (Carl) LeBarron, Brian (Kim) Causer, Lisa (Craig) Churchill, Melissa (Todd) Allison, Joel (Ashley) Regan, Clarissa (Kirk) Payne, and Carina (Mike) Oberther; great grandchildren, Zachary, Connor, Clayton, Kayla, Tyler, Joshua, Noah, Tyler (Shelby), Corinne, Kara, Tessa, Erin, Jacob, Aydan, Gabriel, Mishka, and Dublin; aunts, Arloween Gjedde of Morris Town, TN and Helen King of Savona; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and a special "Thank You" to her caregivers, Mary, Sharon, Sue, and Kimberly. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 29th from 1 - 4 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 30th.
