Betty Lois White 1928 ~ 2016 Betty White passed away peacefully on December 5, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on December 8, 1928 in Ada, Oklahoma. She was the fifth of six children and the only daughter of the late Jesse and Pearl Hammond. Betty moved to California with her family in the late 40s and lived in Ceres for 65 years. Betty worked in the lab at Tillie Lewis for many years and retired from Hershey after 16 years. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Eugene White, her daughter Phyllis Tschantz, and son Ronald White. She is survived by daughters Charlene White, Amy White, and son Eugene White, Jr., 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren. Viewing is Thursday, December 15 at Salas Brothers from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on December 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Salas Brothers chapel, 419 Scenic Dr., Modesto.
