Sister Betty Williams, was born on January 17, 1929 , to the union of the late George and Marta Cooks in Camden, South Carolina. She later moved to Newport News, Virginia with her family friend.
Betty accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Savior Baptist Church. Betty received her formal education in the CamdenPublic schooling system. Betty was definitely one of a kind! Her smile would warm a room and her laughter was contagious! When Betty decided to move to Virginia in the late 70s she became employed in the Virginia Public Transportation Services where she met the love of her life and long time companion, James. To this union was born two children.
Betty departed this life on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. She was proceed in death by her parents and one brother Mr. Johnny Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter Barbara (Thomas Cook of Charlotte,NC; and Cynthia Williams of Rembert, SC. two sisters, Reesy (Marty) Williams & Pamla Cooks both of Rembert, South Carolina. Five grandchildren who she adored! Melissa Williams,Monica (Kenny) Thomas and Christopher(Tiffany) Cooks all of Rembert, SC Dontae Williams & her favorite as everyone would say Melinda (Jermaine) Ray of Columbia, SC. Four nephews who he referred to as the "Fab Four" Jerome,Tyrone, Kevin & Trell & his loving niece Monica; and a host of other relatives and friends.
