Betty Earline (Graham) Nichols, age 75, passed away Saturday at approximately 1:30 in the afternoon, from Sarcoma Cancer. Betty Earline was the youngest of four children (Marie Puckett, Ida Belle Sunday and Joe Graham Jr.) born on January 3, 1941 in Conroe, TX, to Joseph Sofoland Graham Sr. & Fannie Lea (Madeley) Graham.
Betty married James Kenneth (Nick) Nichols and had four children together. Betty's children include, son James Anthony Nichols, Sr. and wife Beth Ann of Conroe, TX, Daughter(deceased): Elizabeth Ann Nichols Knighten and husband Ricky of Richards, TX. Son: Kemith Virgil Nichols and wife Jenny of Nashville, TN. Susan Earline Nichols and partner Cheryle Corn of Phoenix, AZ.
Additionally, Betty was survived by Grandchildren: James Anthony Nichols, Jr. (Jimbo) of Conroe, TX. Kenneth Bruce Nichols (Bruce Bear) of Willis, TX. Kristen Kay Nichols (KK) of Louisville, KY., Donald Dwain Wade and wife Sandy of Spring, TX., Lizette Nichole Schmidt Eggleston (Nickie) and husband Royce of Conroe, TX., Steven Glenn O'Briant and wife Ashley of San Antonio, TX., Jacob Kemith Nichols of Cookeville, TN., Rebekah Lea Pomohaci and husband Danny of Franklin, TN. Nathan Kemith Nichols of Nashville, TN. Great Grand Children: Madeley Renee Nichols, Faith Rebecca Nichols and Caitlynne Elizabeth Eggleston. Step Grand Children: Lilly Cote, Allison Wilson, Ashley Jones and husband Zack and their children Jack & Blake, Alicia Ventura and husband Ricky and their child Anna Ventura. Nieces: Altha La Verna Cook, Gennell Graham and Gaylynn Stovall. Nephews: John Vernon Puckett and Randy Graham. Numerous Great Nieces & Nephews, Friends & Sojourners.
Betty loved and cherished all of her family and friends. She loved to hunt, fish, talk and tell stories. Betty also loved life and never met a stranger. She was very involved with the Montgomery County 4-H Club and The Montgomery County Fair Association where she served as the chairman of the Dairy Division for many years. For the last eight years she and James Kenneth have been involved with Sojourning for the Church of Christ where they went to various children's homes around the country where they not only did spiritual work but did physical work on their home as well. Many people were blessed by her gifts of quilts and various handmade crafts. She made thousands of handmade book marks and handed them out to everyone she met. "Nana" also made handmade porcelain dolls for all her children and grandchildren and made sure they all received the one that reminded her of them the most.
Visitation will be at Metcalf Funeral Directors: 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, TX 77304 on Tuesday October, 25th from 5- 8PM, Services will be held Wednesday, October 26th beginning at 2PM. A graveside service will follow at the Copeland Chapel Cemetery.
