Betty E. Olmstead78: Betty E. Olmstead, 78, of Gibsonburg, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. She was born on December 29, 1938 in Toledo to Harvey & Lucille (Crandal) Senger.Betty graduated from Whitney High School in 1956. She worked as a laborer for Atlas until her retirement in 2001.On June 15, 1957, Betty married Richard Olmstead in Toledo. They shared 52 years until his passing on August 15, 2009. She enjoyed crafting, playing Bingo and camping at Riverbend Campgrounds where Betty gained an extended family of close friends.Surviving are children, Cheryl (George) Shreffler of Gibsonburg, Carol (Bob Lash) Binder of Fremont and Cathy (James) Shammo, Richard (Lori) Olmstead and Cindy (Jeff) Holcomb all of Gibsonburg; siblings, Donald (Diane) Senger, Barbara (James) Iler, Ruth (Greg) Shank and David (Rhonda) Iler; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Nicole Shammo Oswald and brother, Joe Iler.Visitation will be held on Mon., Aug. 21, 2017 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tues., Aug. 22, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Gibsonburg beginning at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Christopher Bazar will officiate.
