ALBION — Betty Jean Pearson, 92, of Albion, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at North Ridge Village Nursing Home. She was born on Jan 10, 1923. Her parents were Seckle R. and Floss M. (Macklin) Yarian. She was a lifelong resident of Albion and Skinner Lake. She worked as a registered nurse for McCray Memorial Hospital in Kendallville for many years. Mrs. Pearson was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Albion. She was a graduate of the Avilla High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing. She married Harold Pearson on Oct. 19, 1946. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1998. She love gardening and crocheting in her free time. Surviving are her sons, Lee (Tish) Pearson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Jed (Cindy) Pearson of Fort Wayne, and Kim Pearson and Hal Pearson, both of Albion; her daughters, Ann (David) Conger of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and Sue Pearson of Gosport, Indiana. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jason Conger, Erin Wendt, Andrew Pearson, Stephanie Slagal, Amy Hoffner, Jill Hoffner, Micheal Pearson, Wendy Pearson, Melissa Ghadimian, Jonathan Pearson and Benjamin Pearson, and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sweet Cemetery, rural Albion. Memorials are to Asbury United Methodist Church.
