Betty Ellen ToutantOctober 26, 2016Betty Ellen Toutant 89, of North Ft. Myers passed away on October 26th at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral Fl after a brief but brave battle with cancer. Betty was born on September 15th, 1927 in Eau Claire WI., daughter of Edwin and Ruth Bredesen. She grew up in Altoona WI., where she graduated from High School. Betty went on to further her education attending the University of Eau Claire studying nursing. Betty was united in marriage to Lloyd C. Toutant on Feb. 1st 1947 at the Altoona United Methodist Church, and enjoyed a marriage of 62 years until Lloyd passed away in 2009. Betty was so loved and will be greatly missed by her children and their spouses, Michael (Shireen) Toutant of Freeport ME., Vickie (Gary) Deal of Hudson, WI., and Jodie (Kit) Klingensmith of N. Ft. Myers, FL. Betty was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by a brother Robert (Marlene) Bredesen, sister Joan Spencer and brother in law Richard Toutant, along with many nieces and nephews. Betty enjoyed raising her family in Hutchinson MN. and then Hudson, WI. She was always involved serving in her church and volunteering with her children's activities. She was a big supporter of her children throughout their lives, in whatever they did. She loved golfing, fishing, playing cards, reading, entertaining, spending time with family and friends, and watching Packer and Badger games. In 1978 Betty and Lloyd retired and moved to N. Ft. Myers, FL., where they enjoyed golfing, traveling to Wisconsin in the summer, and great times with family and friends. Wherever Betty lived, she made lifelong friends. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered for her sweet, caring, generous spirit that is grounded in strong faith. Her love for family and friends was unconditional. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, a son Randall, parents Edwin and Ruth, and a brother Jerold. A service to celebrate Betty's life will be held at Guiding Light Community Church, 1360 Touchstone Rd, N. Fort Myers, Fl 33903 on Saturday November 5th, Family and friends gathering at 5pm and service starting at 5:30pm A celebration of Betty's life will be held in Hudson WI. On Saturday Nov. 12th from 12-4 at Hudson Marina - 16 1st St. Hudson, WI. 54016
