Mrs. Beulah E. ConnerAge: 92 • Fishersville, VABeulah Mae (Epperley) Conner, 92, widow of Hansford Conner, formerly of Staunton, died June 28 in Fishersville. She was born on April 2, 1925, in Elliston, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Mary (Wills) Epperley. Mrs. Conner was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed styling hair for her friends and was a caregiver and a superb cook. She was also a member of Greenville Baptist Church. Surviving family members include a son, Gary E. Conner of Stuarts Draft and his wife, Audrey; a daughter, Lois C. Crosier and Dennis Shull of Verona; nine grandchildren, Tammy Chandler, Darren Crosier, Sarah Conner, Ramona Tidd, Goldie Conner, Candice Welk, Bridget Hudson, Tisha Phillips, Gary Conner II, and Zachary Conner; 15 great-grandchildren, Fritz Crosier, Hunter Tidd, Justin Tidd, Kara Tidd, Lucain Conner, Akilles Conner, Isaac Welk, Ivy Welk, Ringo Conner, Izabella Hudson, Mayla Conner, Heaven Conner, Harmony Wood, Taj Bryant, and Tyler Phillips; a brother, the Rev. Roscoe "R.S." Epperley of Tallahassee, Fla., and a sister, Abbie E. Basham of Staunton. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Maida Barton and Sybil Earhart and a granddaughter, Misty Phillips. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at Greenville Baptist Church by Pastor David Ball. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At the family's request, there will be no public viewing. Active pallbearers are Roger Basham, Weldon Shaw, Carroll Conner, Raymond Conner Jr., John Conner, Robert E. Proffitt, and Greg Vaught. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church and at other times at the home of her daughter in the Rolla Mill subdivision at 58 Granary Rd. in Verona.
