This obituary is administered by:
Beverly ("Bev") Ann West, Shawnee, KS passed away November 15, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was proud to be a 35 year Breast Cancer Survivor. A mass will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th , Shawnee, Kansas. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass. Burial will be at Fort Leavenworth at a later date. Bev was born on May 9, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. She was a great student and was double promoted twice therefore graduating early from high school. She worked as an Executive Secretary until she met the love of her life, Richard West. They were married 49 years. Bev worked for many years as a receptionist for two medical groups. Her hobbies included baking her "famous" pizzelle cookies and shortbread, trying new recipes, dressing up in her pink flannel bunny suit, going to the beach or pool and being with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and watching them perform in everything they participated in. Bev is survived by her son Rick and wife Carol (Omaha, NE), daughter Tammy and husband Ken (Mission Hills, KS) and son Gary (Lenexa, KS) and six beautiful grandchildren who will miss their Grammy: Lauren, Amy, Allison, Jacob, Kaylee and Kyle. She is survived by one sister, Irene Rothermel and husband John (Naples, FL), sister in law, Janet Covert and husband Walt (Northville, MI) and ten nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard West, her parents, Irene and Joseph Tiskie and two sisters, Jeannie and Janice whom she loved so much. Bev feels so blessed to have had so many friends around the county. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the "Guardian Angel Fund" at Good Shepherd Church or take cookies or write a note to someone who is lonely or shut in. When you see the sun setting in the sky please think of her as she always said it was "God's way of closing up shop for the day!"
You can to the family or in memory of BEVERLY WEST.
