Beverly Jean Bow, age 91, died peacefully Thursday morning, October 6, 2016, in The Bridge Assisted Living Center, Longmont, CO, where she was lovingly cared for by the Staff since April, 2015. Beverly was born on May 25th, 1925 in Belvidere, IL, to the late Clark Burt and Viola Warner. A service in celebration of Beverly's life will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, 2425 Colorado Ave, Boulder, CO 80302 at 10:00 A.M. A private family burial will be held at Green Mountain Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy. Beverly joined the Navy during WWII as a WAVE, Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service. Having originally started training as a nurse, she worked at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, CA, where she met Robert (Bob) Eads Bow, who served as a Pharmacists Mate in the same Naval Hospital. They quickly fell in love and after Robert was honorably discharged, they got married February, 1947 in her Illinois family home. Beverly and Bob moved to Texas, where they had their first two children, Deborah A. and Robert E., Jr. While in Texas, Beverly modeled clothing in the Houston Shamrock Hotel, until Bob moved the family to New York with IBM. Jenifer Lynn was born shortly after they moved to New York. Beverly maintained her sense of style there as a saleswoman in Flah's, a high end woman's clothing store. In 1966 Bob was transferred to Colorado. After all three of her children had grown and moved out, Beverly went to Beautician School. She was licensed in Cosmetology and operated a small salon inside her home for several years. After Bob retired, Beverly and he traveled throughout the United States and to Europe. Bob passed away April 8th, 2012, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. They had been married 65 years. Beverly is survived by her younger brother, Warner Burt of California; her three children, Deborah (Jim) Webb of Estes Park, Robert E. Bow, Jr. of Boulder, and Jenifer (Buddy) Wilson of Longmont; her eleven grandchildren; and her six great grandchildren. "If flowers grow in heaven, Lord, then pick a bunch for me. Then place them in my mother's arms and tell her they're from me. Tell her that I love and miss her and when she turns to smile, Place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile."
