Beverly (VanNess) Burritt went to meet her Savior, where her faith became sight, on January 13 at the age of 85.
She passed peacefully surrounded by 4 generations of her family. She was the cherished mother of 7; Randall and Gail who predeceased her, Debbie Dantinne (Delaware) Mark (Arizona), Becky Meacham (Virginia), Danny (Arizona) and Jeff (California). She was born in Ithaca, New York May 17, 1930 and has one surviving sister, Janet Elder (Georgia). She lived in Arizona 46 years, and faithfully served the Lord with her husband Rev Roger E. Burritt until he passed away in 1984 in Superior, AZ.
She was a high school librarian for 14 years in Gila Bend, AZ and retired after 16 years of managing the town library in Superior, where she was named the Librarian of the Year for the state in 1991. After she retired, she moved to Petaluma CA to live with her youngest son Jeff, his wife Tracy, and their children for the past 20 years.
She was active with her Bible study, Red Hat activities, book club, painting classes and quilting. She had a lifelong love for music, was an accomplished pianist, directed choirs and musical groups in church until she was nearly 80 years of age.
She leaves a legacy of love and service for the Lord, her church, and her family. She will be sadly missed by her 5 surviving children, 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Beverly’s life verse is Galatians 2:20.
