Beverly Ellen Baker TeelBrandonBeverly Ellen Baker Teel, beloved wife, homemaker, and mother, of Brandon, Mississippi passed away on May 9, 2017.Beverly was born on December 17, 1928 in Tulsa, OK to Lucille John Baker Scott and Gene Baker. She attended Oklahoma State University and the University of Tulsa, where she majored in art, and was a member of Chi Omega sorority. After college, she worked at Carter Oil Company. While there, she met Harry Dean Teel, the love of her life, who became her husband of 64 years. Together they have one daughter, Barbara Ellen Teel, also of Brandon, with whom she recited the Lord's Prayer every night at bedtime.Beverly was very creative, an artist who appreciated beauty in nature and her surroundings, devoting her entire life to her husband, daughter, and volunteering. She was a docent at Philbrook Museum in Tulsa, OK, as well as her daughter's Blue Bird group leader. She was proud to recall teaching 12 little girls to ice skate. She was an excellent golfer, and won the Mother/Daughter golf tournament with her daughter in Tulsa. She volunteered at the MS Museum of Art Sales Gallery for over 20 years. Beverly enjoyed traveling with her family, her favorite destinations being the country's national parks and Sanibel Island, FL. She and her husband danced, traveled, played, and laughed throughout their 64 year love affair. She is deeply loved. We are thankful that she is reunited with her beloved mother on this Mother's Day.Beverly is survived by Harry Dean Teel, her devoted husband of 64 years; her daughter, Barbara Ellen Teel; brother-in-law, Robert E. Teel; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Teel, and many beautiful nieces and nephews, all of the Oklahoma City, OK area.Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 11, 2017.
