Wanda Pogar AUBURN — Wanda Carol Pogar, 39, of Auburn died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Pogar worked for Busche Enterprise in Albion. She was a graduate of Knott County Central High School in Kentucky. She attended Dayspring Community Church in rural Auburn. She was born Oct. 5, 1974, in Martin, Kentucky, to Curtis and Marge (West) Handshoe. She married Jason Matthew Pogar on March 24, 2007, in Auburn, and he survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Lauren Pogar of Auburn; a son, Curtis Howard of Auburn; her father, Curtis Handshoe of Van Cleave, Kentucky; a sister and brother-in-law, Lela and Jason Handshoe of Kentucky; her father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Judy Pogar of Plymouth; two nephews, Tristan Turner and Eian Turner; and a niece, Tori Handshoe. She was preceded in death by her mother; and a brother, William Handshoe. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Pastor Jeanette Beland will be officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn. Visitation will also be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Emma Corey BUCKEYE, Ariz. — Emma Marie (Prieto) Corey, 71, of Buckeye died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at her home. No services are planned. Buckeye Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Patricia Triplett GARRETT — Patricia Ann Triplett, 71, of Garrett and formerly of Kendallville died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Miller's Merry Manor, Garrett. There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville. Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Jeanette Chapman ANGOLA — Jeanette Mae Chapman, 79, of Angola died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Angola. Mrs. Chapman was a homemaker. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Angola. She was born March 5, 1935, in Butler to Harold and Genevieve (Chapman) Shanks. She married Claude M. Chapman on May 21, 1960, in Hicksville, Ohio, and he survives in Angola. Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Linda Chapman of Angola and Timothy "Tim" and Diane Chapman of Buchanan, Mich.; a daughter, Claudia Ridenour of Angola; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. Services will be at noon Thursday at Faith Baptist Church, 560 W. C.R 400N, Angola, with the Rev. J. Arnold Fair officiating. Burial will be in Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday prior to the service at the church. Memorials are to Faith Baptist Church. Shirley Altimus WAWAKA — Shirley Ann Altimus, 61, of Wawaka died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. at Bethel Christian Baptist Church, Kendallville. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Orange Cemetery near Rome City. Billy Blaylock LAGRANGE — Billy Blaylock, 79, died Tuesday, May 3, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Arrangements are pending at Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange. Beverly Jones KENDALLVILLE — Beverly A. Jones, 71, of Kendallville, Ind., died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Ms. Jones was born on April 13, 1943, in LaGrange to Waldo and Arlene R. (Greeno) Nelson. She was the owner of The Century Shop in Kendallville and was a seamstress for many years who specialized in making drapery. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Desiree Zimmerman of Fort Wayne and Dean and Linda Zimmerman of Fort Wayne; and two grandsons, Grant and Derek Zimmerman of Fort Wayne. Her parents and a brother, Dennis W. Nelson, preceded her in death. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Woodruff Cemetery in rural Wolcottville, Ind., with the Rev. Martha Guldin LAGRANGE — Martha A. "Peachie" Guldin, 93, of LaGrange died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, in Gilbert, Ariz. She became ill while wintering in Chandler, Ariz. Mrs. Guldin worked in the cafeteria at Parkside Elementary School from 1964 to 1971. She also worked as an abstracter at the LaGrange Title Co. from 1971 to 1982. She was a member of the East Springfield Methodist Church and Sylvan Chapter #251 OES where she served as the past matron and past grand warden. She was also a member of the Jerry D. Grand Family. Mrs. Guldin moved to the LaGrange area in December 1947 from Bluffton. She was born Sept. 26, 1920, in Bluffton to Earl B. and Bertha (Herbst) Sturgis. On March 22, 1941, she married Max I. Guldin in Winamac. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1997. Surviving are three sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles Guldin of Casa Grande, Ariz., Kay S. Guldin of Shipshewana and David (Ann) Guldin of Adrian, Mich.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kent L. Guldin; a grandson, Joshua K. Guldin; a sister; and three brothers. Cremation took place in Arizona. Memorial services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange. The Rev. James Bartlett will officiate. Sylvan Chapter OES #251 will have a service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Howe. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Richard Bright AVILLA — Richard A. Bright, 91, of Avilla died on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. Mr. Bright was a truck driver with Renner Express for 32 years. He served in the Navy Air Corps in World War II. He was born on July 8, 1922, in Madison County to Sam and Eva (Hardsock) Bright. Surviving are two stepdaughters, Juanita Fleming Campbell of Roan Mountain, Tenn., and Emma Lee Blanchard of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eva (Sprinkle) Bright; a sister, Ada Pruss; and a brother, Winfield Bright. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brazzell Funeral Home, 530 N. Main St., Avilla, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Military honors will follow the funeral service.
