Beverly immigrated to California at the age of 6 with her parents and remembered going across the plank bridge in the Dunes and stayed in San Bernardino, California. She met her husband Vincent K. During the time her husband was in Philippine Islands, Beverly worked as a "Rose the Riveter", and completed nurse training, while pregnant with her first and only child. After the war they moved to Hillsboro, Oregon where Beverly worked at the local hospital and was general manger for a Quarings Nursing Home, until they retired. After their retirement in the late 1960's, they traveled around the county and finally settled in Yuma in 1974. She was an active member of the Foothills Garden Club. Both remained here in Yuma for the remainder of their life. Beverly is survived by her son, Lawrence J. Douglass; 3 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. No services are scheduled.
