Billie Burnett, 78, passed away Oct. 28, 2016, at her home in Washington, TX.
Billie was born on Aug. 29, 1938 in Elkhart, TX, to parents Joe and Bonnie (Herod) Neel. She was a graduate of Brazosport High School. At a soda shop in Galena Park, TX, she met Tommy Lee Burnett and on Jan. 26, 1957, they were married in Freeport, TX. Her life's joy was caring for her husband and family. In 1990, she and Tommy moved to "the farm" in Washington, TX. Billie was known for her love of cooking and serving others including the joy of sharing farm life with Tommy. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Navasota.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son-in-law, Dave Collins.
Survivors include: daughters, Julie Payne and husband Marty, Patti Collins, Sally Shoemaker and husband Charles, all of Pasadena; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Sanders and husband Charlie.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 2nd, at 10 a.m. in First Baptist Church, Navasota with Bro.Clyde Larrabee, Dr. J. Denny Autrey, Bro. Charles Gibson and Bro. Ed Ethridge officiating. Interment followed in Guiceland Cemetery, Grapeland, Texas. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
