Billy Don CliftonSan AngeloBilly Don Clifton, 89, of San Angelo, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday June 28, 2017, at his residence.Bill was born on May 6, 1928, to Riley V. and Ela (Basham) Clifton in Cogar, Oklahoma.He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and four sisters.Bill is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Martha Day Clifton; and children Kandi Pool and husband Ira, Kelly D. Clifton and wife Sandy, Marta Brock and husband Robert, Mark Clifton and wife Linda and Tracey Payne and husband Joe. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.Bill worked in the grocery business and with Kraft Foods from 1947 to 1963. He then purchased his own small store and ran that until 1967 after which, he went to work at Gibson's until his retirement in 1984. He retired a second time in 1995 from owning his own lawn and repair service.Special THANKS and a great deal of appreciation goes to Molly Riley who has been Bill's caretaker for over a year and to Hospice of San Angelo who saw to him in his last days.Viewing is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday June 30, 2017, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Memorial service is at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, at College Hills Baptist Church, with Pastor Lakan Mariano, officiating.
