Billy Eugene Weatherby Obituary

Aug 05, 1942 - Jan 23, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Billy Eugene Weatherby1942 - 2016On Friday, September 23, 2016, our beloved Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Brother, Grandpa (Papa), passed away from our earthly home to go home.Billy Eugene Weatherby was born on August 5, 1942 to William and Helen Weatherby. On October 6, 1962, Billy was married to Donna, the love of his life and soul mate. They would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this year and although Billy may not physically be here, their love for each other will remain strong and steadfast until they are reunited again for eternity.Like the whispering pines of the mountains he loved so dearly, Billy was the root and quiet strength for our family. He was not a man of many words, but the words that he did speak were profound and were a source of nourishment to the soul like the rivers are to the trees. He spoke of Love, Family and Friendship - the three most important things in his life.Billy, affectionately nicknamed "The Bill Bear", was just that. A Bear that would do anything to protect his cubs, family, but yet he was a Teddy Bear that would soothe you with his gentle spirit. His deep voice could make you stand at attention, but once you were beyond the thunderous look, as you gazed into the twinkle of his blue eyes you could rest in the tranquility of his presence. He was a humble, honorable, nonjudgmental man who believed your actions spoke louder than your words. You always knew the door was open to family and friends with a cold drink waiting with your name on it.The seasons may change, but the one person that stood fast was Billy and his sense of fairness. He was never a man to shy away from his duty, or a task that he felt might have been beyond his own ability.Billy wore many hats. In his youth he worked side by side with his father and brother at the Weatherby Lumber Company and Weatherby Mining. As a logger/miner this gave him time to be with the nature he loved so much. Billy served over 30 years in law enforcement and retired as a Sergeant with the Ada County Sheriff's Office. And in the twilight of his years he became a fisherman which became his favorite pastime and gave him a sense of peace. But most of all, Billy was our Hero, devoted Husband, a loving and unselfish grandfather, and the love of our lives. Our hearts are broken now, but we cherish the day of being in your loving embrace again.Billy is survived by his sweet beautiful wife Donna, daughter Tina and husband Ross, son B.J. and wife Laurie, and his treasured three granddaughters, Jessika, Nikkole and Courtney and grandson Justin; brother Robert and wife Fern, and sister Linda and husband Jim.Services will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.
