The Life of Billy Joe Holloway
Billy Joe Holloway was born to Leonard S. Holloway and Emma C. Holloway. Billy had a fulling life early life, where he was always the life of the party. He was known for all of his jokes and stories. Everyone called him Joe, short. His middle name. After High School, Billy enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Fort Benning, GA. Here he met and married Pamela Alexander who he often referred to as his ray of sunshine on April 7th, 1973. After 2 years of marriage, the young lovebirds decided to move up to Chicago, IL to be closer to Pamela parents, and also start their family together.
Billy and Pamela became working citizens of Chicago working in a few Taverns and convenient stores on the city's South Side. Even making Billy one of the neighborhood dads, since he and Pamela were parents of 4, the kids from the block of State Street, always felt welcomed and loved to come down to play in their huge backyard, or just sitting on the front porch enjoying the summer weather.
Billy settled down in retirement at the age of 55, after working what seemed to be his whole life, he was eager to spend more time with his family and closest friends, and he did just that. In March of 2013, Billy had a terrible heart condition. He stayed strong for five more years before passing from a heart attack. He lost his ray of sunshine on March 27, 2018.
