Billy Roger Crabtree, 78Daleville - Billy Roger Crabtree, 78, of Daleville, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, August 10, 2017. He was born on March 4, 1939, in Forbus, TN, a son of the late Printis Herman and Vina (Story) Crabtree. Roger married the love of his life, Matilda Jane York, on May 15, 1959.  He was a member of the New Hope Church of Muncie.  He retired from Borg Warner in 1991 following 30 years of employment.  Roger was also a home builder for many years. He loved his farm animals, word search puzzles, building dog houses and most of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Those left to cherish Roger's memory include his wife of 58 years, Matilda Jane Crabtree; his children, Billy Ray (DeLynda) Crabtree of Muncie; Tamela Lynn (Steven) Campbell of Goshen, OH, Patricia Ann Biddle of Terre Haute, and Kendall DeWayne (Shonda) Crabtree of Muncie; eight grandchildren, Clinton (Krista) Crabtree, Lacy (Tim) Veyon, Brent (Kendra) Crabtree, Tyler (Hannah) Campbell, Tara (Jimmy) Center, Travis Campbell, Todd Campbell and Brooke Biddle; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Crabtree of Mechanicsburg and Doyle (Sue) Crabtree of Muncie; two sisters, Peggy (Sam) Lee of Muncie and Linda (Charles) Beaty of Jamestown, TN and several nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 15 at Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle with Rev. James A. Southerland officiating.  Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery in Muncie. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be offered to the New Hope Church, 2720 S.
