Blanche Elizabeth King passed away from this life on October 4, 2016, at the age of 61, in Nacogdoches, Texas after a brief diagnosis with cancer. She was born on August 7, 1955, to parents William Encil Muckleroy and Mary Mozelle Permenter. Blanche graduated from Woden High School and attended Angelina College. On October 25, 1975, she married the love of her life, Johnny Mack King and together they raised their one and only son, John Marcus King. Her three grandchildren were truly the apple of their "Grammy's" eye. Blanche had recently retired from Nacogdoches County where she was the Human Resources Director while also serving as the county liaison for United Way. She made many lifetime friends during her 23 years working for Nacogdoches County. Blanche attended the Woden United Pentecostal Church for many years. She taught Sunday school and children's church alongside Johnny Mack, and together they made an impact on many lives. The children loved "Sister B" with that special kind of love. To this day, some of them are living for God because of their teaching and obedience to God's Word. Blanche loved traveling to Canton Trade Days and shopping. If asked by anyone that knew her, the one thing that would stand out the most is that she had a "contagious laugh." Her laughter is truly going to be missed by all that loved and knew her. "A friend loveth at all times…"Proverbs 17:17. Blanche was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Blanche is survived by her husband of 41 years, Johnny King of Nacogdoches; Son, John Marcus King and wife Allyson of Hendersonville, North Carolina; Brother, Charles Muckleroy of Nacogdoches; and 3 grandsons, Gunnar, Grant, and Graeme King; nephew, Slade Muckleroy and wife, Kristen of Lower Merion, PA; and niece, Julie Muckleroy of Charlotte, NC. Pallbearers will be Carl Parrish, Jerry Hand, Pat King, Rex Layton, Randy Layton, Cliff Boulware, Mike Williams, and Dick Tubbe. The family is being served by Laird Funeral Home.
