Bobbie Marie Jones KershFlowoodMrs. Bobbie Marie Jones Kersh, 83, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at her home in Flowood. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017at Liberty Baptist Church in Flowood from 12:30 to 2:30 PM with funeral services immediately following. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.Ms. Bobbie was born on November 10, 1933 in Benton, LA to the late Charlie and Lela Bundy Jones. She moved to Jackson in 1961 and was a self-taught bookkeeper. She managed the Jackson ACCO Credit Union and worked at Armstrong World Industries for many years. She was on the Mississippi Credit Union League Board for 12 years until she retired in 1996. She came out of retirement in 2003 to work as payroll clerk for the City of Flowood. She also served as the cities election commissioner for many years and retired in June 2013. Ms. Bobbie was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church for over 30 years where she had served as church treasurer and on several different committees. Most recently she had been a greeter and kept records for Sunday School classes. She enjoyed socializing with her family and friends, cooking, gardening and her four legged companion Alex.She is survived by her children, Melanie Todd and Daniel Lemoine; her step-children, Robert H. Kersh, Jr and Janice Kersh; sisters, Mildred Smith and Mary Kjar; and numerous nieces and nephews.Ms. Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harold Kersh; her brother, Milton "Buddy" Jones; and sisters, Johnnie Mae Crouch and Margaret Nell Basham.Please visit lakewoodfuneralhomes.com for online guestbook.
