Phillips, Bobby Allen83, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his home in Paris. He was born on April 4, 1934 to his parents, Fred and Thelma (Lee) Phillips, was a graduate of Paris High School where he was very active in sports and achieved All State in football. He attended the College of the Ozarks in Clarksville and later entered the U.S.
Army and was stationed at Dachau, Germany. After his service, Bobby, worked with his brother-in-law building grain elevators and then he began his 30 year career building power plants with Sargent and Lundy Engineers of Chicago. After his retirement, he returned to Paris and lived here until his death. Bobby was loved by his grandchildren and loved teaching them how to fish and play golf where he actively played at Little Creek Golf Course. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Fred, Jr. and Lanthus, two sisters, Faye Ross and Margie Seifert. He is survived by his wife, Margie (Buss) for 62 years; five children, Darlette Knight and Kevin of Bainbridge Island, Washington; Joan Yoest and Gary of Magnolia, Texas; Monte Phillips and Tanya of Janesville, Wisconsin; Anthony Phillips and Heidi of Appleton, Wisconsin and Gregory Phillips and Christine of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; fourteen grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Wills of New Orleans, Louisiana and many nieces and nephews. Rosary service will be held at Roller Funeral Home, Friday, September 1, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. and the funeral mass will be said at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris. Pallbeares will be his grandsons, Mitch Phillips, Stanley Phillips, Jack Phillips, Sam Phillips, Tyler Knight and Corey Yoest. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Paris.
