BOBBY 'bob' L. 'ROCKY' RATMEYER, 78 FORRESTON - Bobby "Bob" L. "Rocky" Ratmeyer, 78, of Forreston, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, Illinois, following a brief illness. Rocky was born on August 21, 1935, in Forreston, the son of LeRoy W. and Alice L. (Heeren) Ratmeyer. On June 5, 1954, Rocky married Marian Greenfield in Forreston. Rocky enjoyed house boating, fishing, and working with his hands and his equipment. Mr. Ratmeyer drove a truck, worked at the Forreston Cheese Factory and later on owned and operated an excavating business. Surviving are his wife, Marian Ratmeyer of Forreston; son, Carl (Pam) Ratmeyer of Rockford; daughter, Renee (Jeff) Biesemeier of Lena; sister, Gerry Schwarze of Forreston. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Brynn (Troy) Turman and Blythe (Jake) Dalton. Rocky was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Forreston Grove Church, Rev. Jeremy Cheezum will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services at Forreston Grove.
