Bobby J. ShepperdOdessa, FLBobby J. Shepperd, age 76, died unexpectedly on October 22, 2016, in Lutz, FL. Bobby is survived by his wife, Pat Shepperd, of Odessa, FL; his daughter, Jenna Pedersen, of Odessa, FL; his grandson, Morgan Pedersen, of Odessa, FL; his son-in-law, Brett Pedersen, of Odessa, FL; his sisters, Billye Myrick, of Columbia, MS., and Sue Beckman, of Pasadena, TX; mother in law, Maurice Smith, of Odessa, FL; step-grandson, Jonathan Pedersen, of New Orleans, LA; two nieces; seven nephews; and his dog, Rascal.Bobby was born on August 16, 1940 in Laurel, MS, to parents L.E. and Laverne. He graduated from George S. Gardner High School in 1958 where he excelled in baseball. In 1962, he entered the U.S. Navy. Upon discharge from the Navy, he moved to Jackson, MS until 2001 when he relocated to Odessa, FL. Bobby was a great family man and a loving father. He married his childhood sweetheart, Pat Smith, in Jackson, MS and the couple had one daughter. They were married for 57 years. He enjoyed playing golf, country music dancing, gardening, and cruising. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving and generous person.A memorial service is scheduled for Bobby on October 27, 2016 at Carrollwood Baptist Church at 11:00, with visitation beginning at 10:30. A reception will follow at home. Dr. Joe Alain, SR Pastor will officiate. All are welcomed to attend and celebrate Bobby's life.
