Bobby Ray WhitakerSarepta, LA - Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Ray Whitaker, age 80, will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Bro. Garland Hughes and Bro. Charles Woolley officiating. Interment will follow in White Hall Cemetery, Haynesville, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.Visitation will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.Mr. Whitaker was born on August 8, 1936 to Lloyd D. and Vivin Theo Morgan Whitaker in Shongaloo, LA and passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. He was a member of the Sarepta Church of Christ and was retired from SWEPCO after 34 years of service. He was in the Army National Guard, Summer Grove Lyons Club, Shreveport Jacees, and was a member of the International Right of Way Association. He enjoyed hunting and running dogs.He is survived by his son, Robert Scott Whitaker of Sarepta, LA; four grandchildren, Tiffany Shadoin, Morgan Whitaker, Lacey Whitaker, Griffin Whitaker; three great-grandchildren, Jersey Rae Shadoin, Jagar Ryle Shadoin, Jexx Ryler Shadoin; two sisters, Mary Sue McCranie, Ellen Fae Fillippino; special niece, Doreen Leland; special great niece, Amy Muir; and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.Mr. Whitaker was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Margaret Ann Whitaker.Pallbearers will be Griffin Whitaker, Justin Ferguson, Seth Disotell, James Taylor, Scott Messer, and Todd Mahaffey.
