BOBBY WOODY JR.SHELBY- Mr. Bobby Gray Woody, Jr., 49, of 310 E. Sumter St., Shelby, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at Wendover Hospice in Shelby. He was born on March 29, 1967, in Cleveland County, N.C., to Eula Mae Woody and the late Bobby Gray Woody, Sr.Bobby was a 1985 graduate of Shelby High School where he participated in football, track and wrestling. He was employed with Cleveland Feed for 26 years. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.Bobby was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He was a dedicated father and "Paw Paw". He loved family dinners and gatherings and had a great love for all his nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered for his strong will and determination.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Gray Wood, III; his sister, Beulah Ann Gingles and a nephew, Noah Joseph Gingles.He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Eula Mae Woody; his sons, Jirian Rashad Woody (Brittany) of Greensboro, and Seven Q. Woody of the home; one grandson, Israel Gray Woody of Greensboro; his brothers, Umar Moori and Michael Woody (Jackie) both of Shelby, Ronald Wilson (Judy) of Gastonia, Larry Woody (Karen) of Norfolk, Va., and Ronnie Woody of Columbia, S.C.; one sister, Kathy Woody of Hickory; three close friends, Terry Petty and Gerrod Davis both of Shelby and Thomas Jackson of Gastonia; two aunts; three children whom he helped rear and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.The family will receive friends from 1 until 1:30 p.m., on Friday, and at other times at the home.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at Canaan Baptist Church, with Rev. R.E. Devoe delivering the eulogy and Bishop Randy Borders officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
