Bonnie L. StockerDes MoinesBonnie L. Stocker, 86, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father, Sunday, October 8, 2017. Services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, at Oakwood United Methodist Church 400 NE 56th Street, Pleasant Hill with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Brooks South Town Chapel 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines.Bonnie is survived by her husband Carl; children Mike (Sue) Stocker of Waukee, Pam (Brian) Hearn of Olathe, KS, Paul (Debbie) Stocker of Des Moines, Diane (Dave) Colbert of Pleasant Hill, and John Stocker of West Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister Donna Hugen; and her nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents, great granddaughter Kaitlyn, and siblings Alwilda, James, Ardery, Robert, and Betty.Bonnie Louise was born on August 14, 1931 in Melrose, the daughter of James and Maude Cooper. On November 12, 1949, she married Carl Eugene Stocker in Albia. Bonnie enjoyed cooking, especially baking pies. She helped serve meals to the elderly with Jeri's Angels, as well as helped with meals for the homeless for over 10 years with Oakwood United Methodist Church. She was a den mother for Cub Scouts. Bonnie spent a lot of time traveling and camping and enjoyed the times she spent with her grandchildren. She loved being a grandma. She was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church and Valley View Village Women's Guild.
