Booker Sallie Sr., a beloved member of the Detroit community, passed away on November 8, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on November 29, 1949, to Avery Samuel Sallie and Mary Ann Lindsey in Detroit, Michigan, Booker was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Booker was married to his devoted wife, Janice Jackson-Sallie, for 47 years. Together, they raised four children: Latasha Simone Sallie, Trevon DeShawn Sallie, Christopher Devon Sallie, and Marchelle Chelly Jackson. He was also a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren.

Booker attended McKenzie High School, graduating in 1965. He continued his education at the University of Michigan, where he excelled in his studies and developed a passion for learning.

Throughout his career, Booker worked at General Motors, where he dedicated himself to his work and made lasting connections with colleagues and friends. His hard work, dedication, and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.
