Dies, Brenda Lee (Radcliffe)Brenda Lee (Radcliffe) Dies, age 78 of Oshkosh died on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at home with her family by her side following decades of living with multiple sclerosis and a more recent diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndrome. Brenda was born on March 22, 1939 in Painesville, Ohio the daughter of Charles and Edith (Tyrrell) Radcliffe. She moved to Oshkosh in 1946 and married Walter Dies, her childhood sweetheart, on December 2, 1961. Brenda was raised in Oshkosh and lived there most of her life except for a brief time when she and Wally lived in Appleton. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. One of her greatest pleasures was having her grandchildren come and share some "special" time together. Early on, singing with each grandchild was one of her favorite activities. Brenda was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, formerly 10th Street Methodist Church. It was there that she first met Wally and knew from the beginning that it was meant to be. She had been a member of their Youth and Senior Choirs, served on numerous committees and on the Church Council.Graduating from Oshkosh High School in "The Class of 1957," Brenda enjoyed helping plan several of the reunions. Brenda attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and went on to graduate from the Bellin School of X-Ray Technology in Green Bay in 1960. She worked at the Appleton Medical Center before returning to Oshkosh in 1962 following the death of her mother and to start a family. Once her boys started school, Brenda worked at the Oshkosh South Side Library and in 1975, resumed her x-ray technician profession at Guenther, Graber, Isom, Hughes & Woodruff in Doctor's Park. Upon her retirement, Brenda enjoyed being with the "girls" at the Colony House.Brenda had been a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Order of Eastern Star (OES) Chapter 16, the Friends Board of the Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Walter, their sons, David (Laurie) Dies of Waunakee and Michael (Jeanette) Dies of Appleton and their grandchildren Elizabeth (Adam) Vande Zande, Sarah Dies, Timothy Dies, Joshua Dies, Austin Dies, and Ramiro Dies, as well as two step-sisters Sharon Cory and Sandra Line of California, one step-brother Charles Line of Nebraska, and her "Radcliffe" cousins.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 761 Florida Avenue, Oshkosh. Pastors Mary Balson and Mark Klaisner will officiate. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made in Brenda's memory to Wesley United Methodist Church. To Wally My Dearest: Through the years I walked with you in deep green forests, on shores of sand and when our time on earth is through, in heaven, too, you will have my hand."Love always,Brenda
