Brenda McPhersonBrenda Taichman McPherson, 67, of Shreveport, LA died on August 3, 2017 at home after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers. Brenda was born on June 14, 1950 in Monroe, LA. She was a member of the University Church of Christ in Shreveport.She graduated with honors from Zachary High School in 1968 where she received numerous awards and was voted Miss ZHS. Brenda met her future husband in the 8th grade and they went on to be high school sweethearts, where she was a cheerleader and he was a football player. Brenda earned a degree in elementary education from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. She was a homemaker while her children were young and later worked with her husband in their family owned business in Shreveport. The things Brenda enjoyed most were spending time with her family and traveling. She was kindhearted, compassionate, selfless, and loved by all who knew her. She was the sweetest daughter, wife, mother and Nana, and we are all blessed to have been a part of her life.She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Elkins, Jr., and her step-father Rudy Taichman. She is survived by her mother, Ryta Taichman; half siblings Frank Elkins III, Jeff Elkins and Chrissy Elkins Evans; husband Scott McPherson; children Shane McPherson and wife Allie, Kelly McSpadden and husband Devin, Rebecca Robinson and husband Trey; grandchildren Nathan, Briana, Bridget and Natalie McSpadden, Neyland and Peyton Robinson, Ian and Ewan McPherson.A special thank you to Hospice of Shreveport/Bossier.
