June 26, 1954-Oct. 25, 2016Mr. Brent "Pappy" Lavway Kenney, age 62, of Flowery Branch passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Lanier Christian Church with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. David Simpson will officiate and pastor David Crisp will be speaking about Brent's life. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Kenney was born on June 26, 1954, in Presque Isle, Maine, to Linwood Kenney and Alyce Lavway Kenney. He was a member of Lanier Christian Church and worked at Z.F. Industries. He is preceded in death by his mother, Alyce Lavway Kenney. Mr. Kenney is survived by his wife, Cindy Kenney of Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Pamela Kenney of Lula; grandson, Nicholas Kenney; grandson, Colby Horne; grandson, Jacob Horne; grandson, Matthew Horne; sister and partner, Peggy Kenney and Patricia Cardinale of Cookeville, Tenn.; sister, Penny Richardson of Mapleton; brother, Keith Kenney of Ringgold; brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Ardis Kenney of Houlton, Maine; and nephew, Ryan Peter Richardson of Newnan.
