RACINE - Brian Scott Gilbertson, 33, passed away at his residence unexpectedly on Sunday, November 20, 2011. Brian was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on February 13, 1978, the son of the late Steven and Laurie (nee: Schumacher) Gilbertson. He was united in marriage to Shannon Snyder on April 7, 2001. Brian was a graduate of J. I. Case High School, 'Class of 1996'. He was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Brian had been employed at Miller Compressing Company for several years. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and three children. Brian is survived by his wife, Shannon and their children, Mikayla, 12, Michael, 10, Isaiyah, one; brothers, Jeff (Vanessa) Gilbertson of Oregon, Rich Lemley of Racine and Chris Lemley of Missouri; sister-in-law, Stefani Snyder of Ind., father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Cyndi Snyder of Ind. He is further survived by nieces and nephews, Ferralena, Nick and Helena, in addition to other relatives and many dear friends. Brian was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother, Michael on May 19, 1994, and close friend, Jay Bassinger. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Terry McGugan officiating. Brian will be laid to rest in a private ceremony. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Brian in a special way may direct memorials to the family to further Brian's children's education.
