Her Love Was The Music Of Our Hearts
Celebration Of The Life of Brooke Olga Duclair
On Wednesday, August 12th, 2020, our dearest “Earthly Angel” passed away. She took her last breath, peacefully in her pink princess room, in the loving arms of her mother (Giani Duclair) and father (Yves Duclair):
Brooke Olga Duclair was born on March 18, 2007, in Inglewood, CA, and grew up in Torrance, CA. Brooke enjoyed attending school; she always started her mornings with a smile and butterfly kisses for her Dad and Mom. She commenced school at 18 months and most recently attended middle school at Calle Mayor Middle School, located in Torrance. There, she was adored and cherished by her educators. Brooke’s teachers would often tell her mother and father about Brooke’s drive and of course, singing in the classroom (she was an avid music listener). She sang both at school and on the bus. Her voice was sweet and beautiful; she loved Whitney Houston. Brooke embraced
her physical challenges. She took every day head-on and was always laughing and smiling. Brooke was full of life and “little miss personality.” Brooke was also a pacifist, whilst being the life of the party. Indeed, she had that balance to her. She loved to dance when God granted her the strength to do so. Brooke listened to so many genres of music: she knew
exactly how to get the party started during impromptu living room dance-offs. She would shimmy to Brazilian songs, groove to Afro-Beats and Rock out to Fall Out Boy (her favorite song, “Sugar We’re Goin’ Down Swinging”). Brooke was a girly-girl and loved to get dressed up/pampered with her mommy. Essentially, Brooke was a little fashionista and made sure that mommy had her outfits prompt and ready to go. She also had to have her sunglasses to coordinate with her outfits; she loved making fashion statements.
She had a sense of humor and was wise beyond her years. Brooke was beloved by her father and they shared inside jokes that only they would laugh at. Brooke had various nicknames her father would call her by. To name a few: “Pooty,“THE KID and Baby Mamba.” She would light up when he came home for work because that simply indicated the jokes would commence.
Brooke was survived by her Mother and Father (Giani and Yves Duclair),
Mother’s side:
Her Aunt and Uncle (Leiana and Paul Guzman; niece Quinn Guzman), Uncle (Sonny “Dwight Yuille), Uncle and Aunt (Brett and Hanna Yuille), Aunt and Uncle (Angelina and Gerald Beridon), Cousins (Marty and Tricia Montoya and little Charlotte), The entire Ochoa, Yuille Family…
Father’s side:
Her Grandfather, Joseph Lefort Duclair, Her Aunts (Marie-Flore Moise, Marjorie Metellus, and Dominique Jones. Aunt and Uncle (Gwendolyn and Bernard Duclair) Cousins (Patrice Moise-Moore, Jasmine Moise, Genevieve Blake, Stephanie Moise, Shalay Duclair, Jada Duclair, Chiara Metellus, Mark Metellus, Brooklyn Duclair, Lance Edmond and Romel Edmond), The entire Duclair and Edmond Family.
She was preceded in death by her Grandmother (Olga Duclair), Aunt (Michele Duclair), and Cousin (Valerie Duclair).
Brooke lived by our mantra, “Strong girls!” That she was… Her strength inspired every soul she encountered in some way. Brooke was love embodied and blessing to those in her presence. We know that Brooke is looking down upon us and our entire family, setting the precedence for a life well-lived. She was and is our sun and is now in a place where time and space co-exist. Brooke had left us all with homework, which is to live every day with a smile and know you can conquer your day, no matter what obstacles are presented.
Brooke’s favorite bible scripture:
Psalm 42:1-2
1 As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?
