Brooke Parker Obituary

Jan 01, 2016 - Nov 14, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Brooke Parker LUBBOCK-Brooke Ashton Parker, of Lubbock, passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at the age of 25. She was born on Jan. 12, 1991, in Lubbock. Brooke grew up in Dimmitt, Texas, surrounded by her childhood and now lifelong friends. She was active in basketball, baseball, ran track, and anything else she could be. She served as the mascot at Nazareth high school where she earned the spirit queen title. She was a fierce competitor and was determined to succeed at everything she put her mind to. Anything she did, she did with heart. Brooke graduated with honors from West Texas A&M with her Bachelors and from San Angelo State with honors as well to obtain her Masters. She earned a 4.0 for both. Brooke worked at Lubbock Cooper ISD as an athletic trainer. Brooke's dedication to her students was obvious. Her kind heart and compassion was shown to all. Student's described her as a life coach and someone they could count on for quick humor, and a strong shoulder to cry on. She truly loved her job. Brooke was a member of the Alzheimer's football team for the Firecrackers and never quit the game even after breaking her pinky. She was determined to finish what she started as she did with everything. As always, she was a true team player. Brooke was a woman of strong faith and can only be described as a room changer with her ever-present smile, her abundant energy, and her contagious laughter. She was the salt and the light. There was never a stranger that entered her life that didn't leave as a friend. Brooke, you will always live on in our hearts. As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17 Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Brett Parker and his wife, Brandi and Jackie Cornett and her husband, Mike; brother, Bryce Parker; sisters, Bree Cornett and Brylee Parker; grandparents, Sandra Lewis, David Forbes, Jo Parker and Darla Hanson; as well as several extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Glenna and Don Cornett, Danny Lewis, Roy Parker and Anthony Hanson; and aunt, Debra Spain. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at Southcrest Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Brooke Ashton Parker scholarship fund at any Prosperity Bank location.
