Bruce Gerard Call, 64, entered eternal life on Tuesday, December 13, at his home in Las Cruces. He is in the thoughts and prayers of all those who loved him.Bruce was born on May 20, 1952, in Deming, New Mexico. Known for his outgoing personality, Bruce was an avid hunter, outdoorsmen, and fan of the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers. Bruce graduated from New Mexico State University with a bachelor's degree in rangeland science in 1974. Bruce was a retired soil scientist and hydrologist for the Bureau of Land Management. For nearly three decades, there wasn't a Las Cruces-area public land project that didn't include an environmental impact statement without his input.He married his wife, Emily, in 1986. One of Bruce's greatest legacies was his family, of which he was undeniably proud.Bruce is survived by his ex-wife Emily Call, of Las Cruces; son Brandon Call, of Dallas, Texas; son Brett Call, of Fort Riley, Kansas; sister Jacqueline Johnson, of Mary-ville, Washington; and a host of many other friends and relatives.Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Vivian Call, and grandmother, Viola Call, all of Las Cruces.A memorial service for Bruce will be held at La Paz-Grahams Funeral Home, 555 W.
