Bryan Lynn Franko, beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, left us too soon on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Bryan was born in Honolulu, HI, February 8, 1967, to mother, Joyce Franko McLaughlin (nee Malo), and father, Richard Franko, while his dad was serving in the United States Air Force. Bryan grew up in Hawaii, Minnesota, and Texas, and graduated from Willis, Texas HS in 1985. Bryan moved east to live his adult years in the greater Boston, Massachusetts area, where he worked in the restaurant hospitality industry and helped to raise his son, Quinn Oliver Franko.
Bryan will remain close in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be remembered for his sharp wit, intellectual curiosity, fierce independence and resilience, talent for writing, love of literature, and his passion for all styles of music. Bryan is fondly remembered as an unconditionally loving father. Bryan was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce McLaughlin of Victoria, TX, and is survived by his son, Quinn Franko of Boston, MA, father Richard Franko, stepmother Donna Franko, and brother, Kenneth Franko, of Chandler, TX; sister, Crystal McLaughlin, of San Antonio, TX, stepsister Catherine Rivera of LaPorte, TX, stepbrother, Bryan Wilkers of Merritt Island, FL, and nieces and nephews, Chase Franko of Ft. Jackson, SC and Amber Quintanar of Livingston, TX.
An outdoor, private remembrance and celebration of Bryan’s life was held on Tuesday, June 30th, and a funeral service will follow at the Lake Palestine United Methodist Church, Chandler, TX when family and friends may safely gather.
