A Life Worth Living
Bryce Cooper, 83, of Alameda, California, was born on June 11, 1937. Bryce was reunited with his wife Kathryn in heaven on March 07, 2021. Kathryn Alice Cooper move on to heaven March 05, 2020 due to covid complications. Their "love" was so strong that they could not be apart another day! He missed her so much! Their love brought them back together one year later. Their love story began when he was 15 and she was 13 years old. Doyle was married to Janice for 61 years and they were together for 68 years.
Bryce Cooper was born in Florence, South Carolina to Lillie and Carl Cooper on June 11, 1937. When Doyle was a young boy he traveled with his parents and siblings from California to South Carolina for a "family life". He lived in Darlington County and attended Mayo High School. In high school, he played football, but he loved to run track! He said, "It was so fun to travel on a bus to different cities that I've never been too "just to run." He won several first-place ribbons/awards during high school.
Bryce was a very "hard working" man all his life. At a young age, he worked doing odd jobs to help support his parents and siblings. As an adult, he would work one, two or three jobs at a time to provide for his own family and parents. Bryce worked at Tri Valley Growers for 47+ years before he retired. Together with his wife Kathryn, their hard work and sacrifices provided them a wonderful life!
Bryce enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Some of his favorite things to do were to "fire up" the grill to barbeque, take road trips to Lake Tahoe to play one of his favorite games' "craps", go camping, hunting, watching sports on tv, especially his favorite "cowboy western movies", and taking trips with his wife and friends. He was an excellent cook. Every New Year's Day Bryce would cook a big pot of the best black-eyed beans and cornbread (a family tradition for a prosperous New Year).
There are not enough words to describe how "GREAT" this man was to his family and friends. He was the "BEST" Dad, husband, grandpa and friend. Anyone who had the pleasure to have Doyle in their life was "truly blessed"! He cherished his family and friends so much! His heart was so big and generous! Bryce would do anything to help a friend. He would give his "last dollar" to them if they needed it. He loved making the people in his life HAPPY! He would often say, "If you are happy, then I am happy!".
Bryce's children Brian and Kate were his pride and joy! His children loved and adored him more than anything in this world! Our dad was ALWAYS there for us and taught us valuable life lessons. Our lives will be forever "empty" now that you and mom are in heaven!
Dad, you are our Hero and now Our Angel! We will miss you so much! We LOVE you Daddy! Until we see you again, you will be forever loved and missed!
Bryce is preceded in death by his parents Lillie and Carl Cooper, his wife Kathryn, siblings Milton and Norma Lee. He is survived by his son, Brian Cooper and wife Rosaline of San Francisco, Daughter Kate Cooper-Woods and husband Benjamin of Aiken, grandchildren Brandon Cooper and wife Yolanda, Justin Cooper, Ryan Shaneck, Chelsea Woods, great grandchildren Delilah, Lillian, Raven, Ralph, and David Cooper Brother Lynn Cooper of Oakland and Sister Geraldine Welch of Glendale, AZ.
