Dewald, BurnellBurnell Dewald, age 83, died unexpectedly at his home in Holmen, Wisconsin on October 14, 2017.Burnell was born on December 8, 1933 in Batavia, (Town of Scott, Sheboygan County). He was the son of Walter and Malita (Luedtke) Dewald. He was confirmed and baptized at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Batavia. He attended the Batavia Grade School and was a 1951 graduate of Plymouth High School, where he participated in football and track.He served in the
U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 -1956, earning the rank of Sergeant. During that time he spent 18 months in Japan.Burnell and Junith Stolper were married on September 22,1956 at St. John's Lutheran Church at Sherman Center. Burnell was employed at Krier Preserving Company at Random Lake for 9 years. He later was employed over 30 years at Cenex Co-ops which included soil service centers at Adell and Valders. He was general manager of Sheboygan Falls Co-op, where he was awarded the honorary chapter farmer FFA award in 1976, from Sheboygan Falls High School. He was also employed at Valders Co-op in the hardware and small engine department.Since retirement he was employed part time at Autumn Ridge Golf course at Valders, Menards of Manitowoc and since 2005 had been a seasonal employee of the Town of Sheboygan until October of 2016.Burnell was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Sheboygan Falls and served as a greeter and choir member. Burnell enjoyed attending his grandchildren's music concerts and sports events whenever possible. He also enjoyed fishing, deer and turkey hunting in the LaCrosse area.Burnell is survived by his wife Junith; a son Steven (Dorothy) Dewald of La Crosse; two daughters Patricia (Gary) Ubbelohde of Sheboygan Falls, and Jill (Tom) Wilcox of Harris, Minnesota; also five grandchildren SFC Chad Ubbelohde and fiance Courtney Foster of Bardstown, Kentucky; Becky (Dustin) Koppelmann of Howards Grove, Kylie and Tyler Wilcox of Harris, Minnesota, and Sierra Dewald of LaCrosse, and two great-grandchildren Hannah and Olivia Ubbelohde of Kentucky.Burnell was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and brother-in-laws: Glendora (Ardell) Bayer and Sharon (Ralph) Schneider and a brother in-law and sister-in-law George and Doris Stolper.Visitation will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 730 Cty PPP, Sheboygan Falls on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the church from 9-10 a.m. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Thomas P. Gudmundson, officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery with full military rites being accorded by
