It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Burt Newsome, born on March 19, 1947, and was called to eternal rest on September 23, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, United States. Burt was a husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Burt was born to Sterling Newsome and Hazel Tackett in Vergie, Kentucky. In 1973, he was married to, Colleen Newsome, and together they raised two sons, Michael Burt Newsome and Larry Wayne Newsome.

Burt worked as a Commercial Painter and retired in 2012. Prior to his career in painting, he proudly served in the Army as a Spec 5 Sargent in Company B, 2nd Battalion, 50th Infantry, 2nd Armored Division at Fort Hood, Texas for 2 years.

Outside of his professional life, Burt was a quiet man and enjoyed spending time and having laughs with his friends and neighbors. He enjoyed fishing, working on vehicles, and taking care of his home/lawn.

On September 23, 2024, Burt Newsome passed away due to complications of Alzheimer’s/Dementia. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family and friends.
