Calvin A. MittowerFREMONT: Calvin A. Mittower, 84, of Fremont, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017. He was born on August 30, 1932 in Republic to the late Thurman and Goldie Mittower. He was employed at the Green Springs Elevator and was a maintenance supervisor at the Green Bay Packaging Company for 27 years, before retiring in 1995.He enjoyed working with his hands and over the years he had built 104 sheds, numerous dog and cat houses, along with several chicken coops.Mr. Mittower was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clyde where he had numerous missions trips to Kentucky. He was a memorable mentor of the church youth during these trips. He was a member of the Eagles in Bellevue and the Moose in Fremont.Cal never knew a stranger, always had a joke or story to tell.He was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Sellers (Loudonville), a brother Edward "Butch" (Republic), a former wife, Helen Mittower.He is survived by his wife Marge Mittower, sister Marge (Karl) Wohlfarth of Toledo, children Kevin Mittower of Fremont, Tom (Linda) of Fresno, CA, a daughter Linda (Michael) Schabow of (Durham, NC), step children Tom (Ruth) Kosman of Barbstable, MA, Barb (Bruce) Ribner of Atlanta, GA, Robert (Pam) Henry of Petersburg, MI and Barb (Norm) Fuller of Wapakoneta, Ohio. Several grandchildren and step grandchildren along with several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Edison Memorial United Methodist Church,10 E. Church St., Milan, Ohio 44846 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Dale Thomas and Rev.
