Calvin "Lee" Adams, III, age 29, of Crystal River, FL, passed away November 14, 2016 in Gainesville, FL. Lee was born on March 25, 1987 in Vero Beach, FL to Calvin Lee, Jr. and Olga Natividade (Mendonça) Adams. He attended Bloomingdale High School in Brandon, FL and Columbia High School in Lake City, FL, where he graduated with honors. Lee earned a Bachelor's degree from the
University of Florida with a major in English and a minor in Portuguese. He was self-taught and fluent in both Portuguese and Chinese. He was a classically trained double bassist and guitarist, playing in several orchestras. Lee was a voracious reader of all genres and experimented as a playwright. Literature and language studies were his true passions.Lee worked as an English teacher in China, in the cities of Hangzhou and Shanghai, for over two years. He also worked as a proof editor for a law firm, and a publishing company.He was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Lee was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Fernando Mendonça and his cousin, Valerie Lay Post.He is survived by his parents, Calvin Lee Adams, Jr. and Olga Natividade Mendonça Adams of Crystal River, FL; sister, Amanda Nativity Adams Hollett, (two Nephews, Russell and Luke Hollett) Tallahassee, FL; Paternal Grandparents, Calvin Lee Adams Sr. and Martha Kitty Adams of Crystal River, FL; Maternal Grandmother (Avó), Maria Mendonça, Fallbrook, California; and many extended family members in Citrus County and surrounding areas.Family will be receiving friends on Friday November 18, 2016 from 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home and crematory in Lecanto, FL. Burial will follow at the Cedars of Lebanon Cemetery in Inglis, FL.In lieu of flowers, if so desired, the family asks that you donate to , in remembrance of Lee.Lee will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege to know and love him.
