CALVIN BRAY MCCORMICK, 96, of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away November 16, 2016, at Hospice of Huntington on what would have been his sixtieth wedding anniversary. He was born on April 8, 1920, in Gallagher, West Virginia, to the late Alexander Calvin "Pete" McCormick and Nellie (Bray) McCormick. He was a
World War II veteran who served in the Pacific Theater and then retired from Union Carbide after 37 years. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Janice Goodwin McCormick, sister, Molly McCormick, and grandson, Steven McCormick. Calvin is survived by sister, Louise Carden of Roscommon, Michigan, sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Jeff and Ann McCormick of Hurricane, W.Va., and Dr. Charles Calvin and Krystal McCormick of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandchildren, Jennifer Roush and her husband Delbert of Charleston, W.Va., Lindsay Philabaun and her husband Jason of St. Albans, Brandon Nicholas of Barboursville, Jack Calvin and Luci McCormick of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Evan Conner Philabaun of St. Albans and Brooklyn Bray Roush of Charleston, W.Va. A service to Honor the Life of Calvin will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, at
Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston, W.Va., with Pastor Keith Wiebe Jr. officiating. Interment will be in
Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Family and Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th Ave., Huntington, WV 25701. Memories may be shared by visiting
