Cameron Benton KnightStarkvilleCameron Benton Knight, 30, of Starkville, MS, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in Gulfport, MS. Ben was born on November 13, 1986 in Jackson, MS. Ben's life motto was Ago Vita, which means "live life", but to him it meant much more than those two simple words. He not only lived life, but he strived to live it to the fullest. To Ben, life was too short to have a bad time, so he never worried with such nonsense. He always found a way to make those around him laugh, and he will be remembered for always being the light in someone's life. He was a 2005 graduate of Brandon High School, and went on to attend Mississippi State University, where he obtained a Bachelors in Economics. He also had a love for music like no other. Ben was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Knight Pate, and grandfathers, Curtis Benton Knight and Harrold Pate.He is survived by his father, Terry (Kim) Pate; siblings, Mitchell (Kelly) Pate, Michelle Pate, Garrett Pate, Casey Pate and Elizabeth Pate; nieces, Kaydence Pate and Emily Reeves; grandmothers, Bea Knight and Mary Francis Pate; aunts and uncles, Tonya Spivey, Steve Knight, and Sandra (Ken) Perry; along with numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.The visitation for Ben will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 12 noon with Bro. Roger Bradley officiating. Interment will be held at Centerville Cemetery in Laurel, MS at 4:00 p.m.Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, in Escatawpa/Moss Point, MS is in charge of arrangements.
