On Friday July 31st, 2020, Cameron Mitchell Young, loving son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend to many, passed away at the age of 28, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, CA, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Cameron was born on January 19, 1992 in Noblesville, Indiana to Jason and Marie Young. He lived the majority of his life in the Cicero, IN area with his father Jason and adoptive mother Kerri Young and four siblings. He graduated from Hamilton Heights High School in 2010.
Cameron loved the outdoors and going on adventures. He loved hiking and fishing almost as much as spending time with family and friends. Despite facing many struggles in life, Cameron still remained optimistic about situations that most would consider defeat. He didn’t see the trials he faced in life as problems, he saw them as opportunities to an experience that would later be a great “story” to tell others.
Cameron had moved to Crescent City, CA in early 2020 to get a fresh start in life and begin a new adventure; little did he know then, how much he would fall in love with his new life, home and friends there. He worked for Red Sky Roofing in Crescent City, CA, where he quickly formed many close relationships. Cameron made lasting impressions on the people he met. He never met a stranger in life. He was super friendly, loving and would drop whatever he was doing to help anybody in need. He had a laugh that was infectious, a silly smile that would light up a room, he had a huge heart and he gave the warmest, tightest hugs. He loved life and lived life to its fullest.
Cameron had a few signature phrases that will live on in our memories:
“I am. That is all.”
“It’s okay. I’m fine.”
“Howdy”
"That's decent"
“We don’t have a problem here, we have a STORY.”
Cameron is survived by his parents, Kerri (Hartley) Young of Cicero and Jason and Lisa Young of Cicero. His siblings Beth, Spencer, Gabriel and Aubree Young; Dave and Brittany Mullins; Chandra Harley and Shelby Jarworski; and his grandmothers Lois (Jennings) Eubanks and Nancy (Correll) Hartley. Additional surviving relatives include: his grandma Jane and Bruce Hestand and Edith Marie (Stewart)Young of Noblesville and his daughter Oaklee Perry and baby girl due in November 2020, along with many more aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Jackie Young and Ralph Hartley
