Candy Cope Baskett A life-long resident of Orting passed away October 26, 2017 at the age of 60 after a short illness. Candy was born on August 3, 1957 to Robert and Monalee Cope and spent her first year living in Pullman while her father finished college at Washington State College. Candy attended school in Orting and was a 12-year senior graduating from Orting High School in 1976. Candy met the love of her life while showing her calf at the Pierce County Fair for 4H. She and Chuck were married on July 7, 1979 and began their life together. Candy and Chuck welcomed their first son Nathan in 1985 and then added their second son Cody in 1991. Candy held various jobs as well as being a full-time mom. Candy also was a full-time care giver to both of her Grandmothers until their passing. Candy loved her husband, her sons and her family. They were the joy in her life. She is survived by her husband Chuck, sons Nathan and Cody (Karleigh), mother Monalee Cope and siblings Carol Skinner, Carla (Gary) Ferguson, and Chuck (Shawn) Cope, Step Mom Jennifer Cope, Sister Inlaw Carol Ann Richburg, Brother Inlaws, Chris, Craig (Peggy), Curt (Kristine) Baskett and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her Father, Bob Cope. A celebration of her life will be held on November 12th at 2pm at the Orting Eagles.
