Carl L. Dusch, 74, of Hickox Lane, Brookville, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at the Cambria Care Center in Ebensburg, Pa.He was born on May 23, 1942, in DuBois, Pa., the son of George Dush and Edith Viola Christina Johnson Dush. He was married to Judy Huffman, who preceded him in death.Carl was a member of the First Church of God in Brookville, Pa., where he was a greeter, helped with various construction work and also in the kitchen.He worked for Zents Brothers for years before going into his own construction business, and he also drove school van for Brookville Area Schools for two years.Carl enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and especially loved spending time with his boys and his grandkids and attending all of their activities.He also enjoyed road trips with his sister when she came to visit, and one of his favorites was driving to Benezette to see the elk.Carl is survived by his two sons, Michael Dusch and Scott Dusch (wife Honey Dawn) both of Brookville; one sister, Jean Niehenke of Beaver, Pa.; four grandchildren: Mekka, Corey, Austin, and Brady; and several nieces and nephews.Carl was preceded by his parents; his wife; one brother, Fred Dush; and an infant grandson, Justin Michael Dusch.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Peterson Funeral Home, 153 Jefferson St., Brookville, PA 15825 and also on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the First Church of God, 201 Freedom Lane, Brookville, Pa., from 9 a.m. until the time of services.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the First Church of God with the Rev. Henry Scoff officiating. Burial will take place in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Knox Dale, Pa.Memorial donations in Carl's memory may be made with the First Church of God, 201 Freedom Lane, Brookville, PA 15825; or to Pinecreek K-9 Search Unit, 18656 Rt. 322, Brookville, PA 15825.Arrangements under the direction of the Peterson Funeral Home.
