This obituary is administered by:
Carl L. WhaleyNorth CharlestonCarl L. Whaley of North Charleston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Saturday, July 1st, 2017. He was born on May 28th, 1941 in Centenary, SC, the son of the late Manley and Annie Whaley.Carl lived his life to the fullest. He was a successful businessman while always finding time to enjoy life's simplest pleasures. He learned about business early in his life before founding the Daley Corporation with his long time partner, Dan Boling, in April 1968. He spent his career in Greenville, SC and was fortunate to retire in Charleston, where he met his wife. Throughout his retired years, he enjoyed time with family, played golf, attended Gamecock football games, toured the country in his RV, and built long time friendships with his neighbors of Coosaw Creek Country Club. He was a kind, generous husband, father, and friend, and he was a true southern gentleman, although most people did not always understand his thick southern accent. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; son, Van Whaley, of Louisville, KY; daughters, Kimberly Davis (Mike) of Chapin, SC; Dani Whaley, Greenville, SC. Step children, Frank Munaco (Lori, fiancée) of Bluffton, SC; Sandra Munaco of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and Stefanie Renaud (Brandon) of Mt.
