Carl Eugene Litle, 87, of Sterling, CO passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Berean Church in Sterling with Pastor Daniel Holsten officiating. A family inurnment was held at an earlier date. Carl was born on November 18, 1929 in Prague , OK to James and Mattie Litle. He married Nadine Meyer on April 3, 1953 in Mountain View , CA . Carl followed his four older brothers (all WWII vets) into military service at the age of 16. He joined the US Army and served in Vienna , Austria immediately following WWII. After his military service he became a career US Post Office letter carrier. First and foremost Carl was a devoted husband and father. He will be remembered as a Little League baseball coach, church youth group leader, and driving instructor to countless young, aspiring drivers. Carl played pool throughout his life, and won several Colorado Senior Division pool tournaments after retirement. He is preceded in death by his four brothers, 2 sisters, and one grandson, Clayton Hughes. Carl is survived by his wife, Nadine Litle; daughter Joyce (Lynn) Jost; sons Larry (Bonnie) Litle and Ken (Annette) Litle; daughter Debi (Dr. Andy) Hughes; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
