Carl Nick Jensen Sr. passed away on Oct. 18, 2016, in Pedro Bay, Alaska, at the age of 87. Carl was born on Dec. 5, 1928, to Mike Jensen Sr. and Elizabeth Rickteroff in the village of Old Iliamna, Alaska, and was of the Denaina Gghayi clan. Carl married his wife, Marjorie, in 1960, and they shared 56 years of marriage. Together, they ran the post office in Pedro Bay and operated a bed and breakfast. A master of many trades, throughout the years Carl commercial fished in Bristol Bay during the sailboat days, hauled mail by dog sled and worked as a big game guide, power plant operator, mechanic and telephone technician for ACS. Carl frequently shared that it was a life-changing event when he accepted Christ as his personal Savior in 1983. Recently, he was awarded the honor of Elder of the Year by the Bristol Bay Native Corporation. Carl is preceded in death by his father, Mike Sr.; mother, Elizabeth; brothers, Albert, Mike and Chris; his sister, Freda; and his children, Grace, Carl Jr., Charlotte and Candace. Carl is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his children, Kevin, Karla and Keith and his wife Rebecca; daughter-in-law, Nancy; his grandchildren, Christopher, Brittany and her husband Steven, Bianca, Chelsea, Brandon, Elijah and Autumn; great-grandchildren, Delaney, Ruby and Tinomaluosalafai; and many other loving relatives and friends.
