SACO - Carleen L. Simpson, 78, of Saco, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, in Saco.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1937, in Westbrook, daughter of Eugene and Hazel (Landry) LeConte. Carleen was educated in Westbrook, graduated from Westbrook High School in 1955 and received an associate's degree in business.
After her schooling, she worked for A&P Company in Portland, Fielding Inc., Bank of Boston, 20 years with Shaw's Supermarket and retired from Biddeford Savings Bank in 2002.
In 1960, she married Raymond C. Simpson and was married for 55 years until his death in May 2015.
Carleen is preceded in death by: her husband, Raymond; stepson, Jerry Simpson; brothers, Conrad, Russell, Robert, Eugene, Norman, and Norris; and sister, Christine LeConte.
Carleen is survived by: her children, Scott (Donna) Simpson and Kelly (David) Ste. Marie; stepdaughters, Deborah (Rodney) Laurendeau, Pamela (Steve) Weinert and Diana (Paul) Legere; stepdaughter, Debra Simpson; 14 grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Norwood and Paul LeConte.
During her retirement, Carleen loved staying active, including The Red Hat Society, lunch and shopping with friends and traveling. Some of her adventures include Ireland, Hawaii, Nashville, Myrtle Beach, Aruba, Las Vegas and a Caribbean cruise to name a few.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3 with a service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St. in Saco. A graveside service will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
